Star Helper

Connor was star helper at school today (believe me a big deal in the life of a four year old!). He was suppposed to take something to show his class that started witht the letter "H". He then has to write four clues and they try to guess what it is. That is what he is carrying in the bag. Here are his clues:1. It is black 2. It has a skull on it 3. A pirate has one 4. You wear it on your head

Any guesses?

Saying good-bye

It was over way too soon! The Holmans had to leave to go home. This is all the kidos last night together. It really was amazing how well they got along together and how much fun they had! We can't wait until they come back next year!
Waving good-bye!

A day at the beach

These are some of my favorite pictures from our day at the beach with the Holman family. It's hard to believe it was only about a week ago that we were there, as right now it is freezing cold and pelting rain.

Our two little mermaids.

Mads enjoying herself at the beach. Apparently the sand tasted better than it felt!

WOW! WOW! WOW!

Wait, before you read this post go down my playlist and select the song, The Dance, by who elso, Mr. Garth Brooks, then read on! It all seems very surreal now but last night I was at THE Garth Brooks concert. Supposedly the last concert he will ever do and it was quite a night! Now I have had concert going experience (remember a group called Color Me Bad, and the guy who sang the theme for Growing Pains?!) but this was unlike any concert I had ever been to. Garth had no momentum stealing opening act, just him for 2 full hours! He really is a great entertainer! We had great seats, (thanks Dr. Chao!) and the whole crowd was really into it, with the exception of the lady sitting in front of me who did not stand up the entire time, just sat there with her ears plugged! I guess she didn't expect it to be loud!

A few shots of Garth. Our seats were actually closer than these pictures even make it look. Unfortunately I do not have a very good camera so most of the shots were kind of blurry.

Garth's wife and fellow country singer, Trisha Yearwood, joined him on stage for a couple of songs. That was really fun!

We got home at about 2:30 in the morning, (way too late for old people like us!) I put my shirt on that I got at the concert, and have yet to take it off! I wore a sweater over it to church so that I could show it to anyone who cared! What a night!

My Obsession

When my mom first told me about this book I thought it sounded sooooo corny, come on a vampire love story?! But now I am obsessed. Definitely the best books I've read since Harry Potter. I read the first one in a day, read the second one the next day, and am holding my breath until my friend finishes her copy of the third one so that I can read it. She promised to have it done by Monday. That's three very long days away. Fortunately I have the Garth Brooks concert tomorrow to keep my mind occupied and off of vampires!

A tribute to Troy Bolton

This is Cade doing what I think is a fairly accurate recreation of the golf course scene during "Bet on It" (Sorry for all of you out there who are not avid HSM 2 fans, this will mean nothing to you!)

More fun at Disney

Just a few random shots from Disney. As in life, all good things must come to an end, and our trip to Disney was over. But it was great! I hope we can do it again next year!

SCREAMIN'!

Matt and Jenny decided they were brave enough to try SCREAMIN', and Blake and Connor patiently waited to watch them take off.
Getting ready to blast off! That's Amanda and Samantha in the front with their arms up!

Looks like they enjoyed SCREAMIN'!

Day two at Disney-California Adventure

We were refreshed and ready for another day at Disney, this time over at California Adventure.
I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but it seemed like we were the only ones in Bugs Land. We rode most of the rides all alone and over and over again because there were no lines!

The one ride Blake wanted to do while at Disneyland was Tea cups but it was closed, so we had to hit the lady bug tea cups over at Bug's Land.

Not a great picture, but this is Connor's all time favorite ride, so I had to put it in.

I had to include this picture because I think it is one of the few pictures that you can see Jenny's tiara! So cute!

Day One at Disney-Continued

The "Princesses" in front of the castle and with their "BEST" "FRIENDS" "FOREVER" necklaces.

All the kidos on "Pirates"

Mads doing a little Dumpster diving. I'm sure hotel gargage cans are clean, right?!

Here's Mads checking out her hotel crib. Unfortunately, this is about as close as she ever got to her crib that night!

Trip to Disney with the Holman's-Day One

The kids were up bright and early,(despite bing up VERY late the night before) on the morning we were leaving for Disneyland. They were very excited! They did their bead projects (thanks Grandma Linda!) while us parents packed up.
Our first official ride at Disneyland, the tram from the parking garage to the park. Don't we all look excited?! We were!

Fist thing when we got there we had to wait in a line (this is Disneyland, it's all about waiting in line!) to get the Holman family their tickets, so we broke open the snacks to keep the babies entertained.

After we got our tickets and went thru the gates we had to get a family picture. It is a right of passage to get your first picture at Disney in front of the Mickey flowers.

The Holman family's first ride at Disney land! I think from this point on they were hooked!
